  • Q: How much experience do I need?

    A: We require two (2) years of recent, verifiable Class A CDL tractor-trailer driver experience.

  • Q: How long is Driver Orientation?

    A: Our Driver Orientation is an 8-hour session held on a single day each month. In some situations, you may be hired and working before your scheduled orientation. All drivers must attend a full orientation session within their first month of employment.

  • Q: What can I expect for pay?

    A: McCormick is an exclusive mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. As such, our route rates are set by the Department of Labor, with most averaging $18 to $22 per hour of straight pay and approximately $4 per hour in fringe benefits. By regulation, the “fringe rate” must be applied towards employee benefits.

  • Q: What kind of benefits can I expect?

    A: Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision and short-term disability insurance for all employees, full- and part-time. Employees can extend coverage(s) for a fee to spouses and/or children. We also offer a 401(k) retirement fund, as well as paid vacations and holidays. Full-time employees are eligible for accrued holiday pay once their probationary period is over.

  • Q: What kind of home time can I expect?

    A: The large majority of McCormick drivers are home every day. In any situation, McCormick drivers enjoy far more home time that general-freight OTR drivers.

  • Q: What is the rider policy?

    A: McCormick drivers are not allowed to transport passengers, including animals. No exceptions.

  • Q: What is your pet policy?

    A: Pets are not allowed in company equipment or on the premises of U.S. postal facilities.

    A: McCormick is headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tenn., at the following two locations:

    McCormick also operates a large terminal in Orlando, Fla. (8808 Florida Rock Road), and maintains yards in Memphis, Tenn., Indianapolis, Ind., Atlanta, Ga., and Birmingham, Montgomery and Huntsville, Ala.

  • Q: Where do I sign my onboarding documents?

    A: Once hired, you will receive all of your onboarding documents in your e-mail through TenStreet.

  • Q: Do drivers have to wear uniforms?

    A: We do not have an official uniform. We trust our drivers to dress appropriately.

  • Q: What is a “Relief Driver”?

    A: Relief drivers fill in for drivers on other routes on their days off or when they need to take vacation. Relief positions can and often do lead to full-time driving positions.

  • Q: Do you have eLogs?

    A: Yes, we do use eLogs.
